Introduction:

Made form semi-translucent jade, this S-shaped dragon pendant is clearly influenced by similar designs from the early Warring States period (476-221 BC). It has exaggerated horns and a beard below the jaw. A perforation below the eye suggests it was used as a pendant. A sharp claw emerges from the upper part of the body and a curved fin emerges from its chest. The curled tail ends in an abrupt manner. The whole body of the dragon is decorated with raised spirals. A similar piece, probably from the Warring states period, was found inside the tomb of the King of Nanyue.
